Why latex feels different
Latex generally rebounds faster than slow-response memory foam. That creates a buoyant, easier-to-move-on surface rather than a deep, delayed hug. In hybrids, coils add further responsiveness and airflow while carrying much of the structural load.
Source matters
Natural latex starts with rubber-tree sap; synthetic latex is produced from petrochemical feedstocks. “Natural” and “organic” are not interchangeable claims. Organic claims should be tied to a recognized certification and to the specific component being certified.
Process matters
Dunlop and Talalay describe manufacturing processes, not simple quality grades. Density and formulation matter alongside process, so avoid assuming every Talalay layer is soft or every Dunlop layer is firm.
Support system matters
A latex hybrid uses coils beneath latex. An all-latex mattress uses latex through the support core. Hybrids tend to be easier to manufacture at lower total latex volume and often have strong airflow and edge support.
