Material odor is not one thing

A latex mattress may contain natural latex, synthetic or blended latex, adhesives, fabrics, wool, coils or other foams. Those materials can produce different new-product smells, so “latex off-gassing” is too broad a label.

Sensible setup

  1. Unbox in a ventilated room.
  2. Follow the manufacturer’s expansion and setup instructions.
  3. Keep packaging away from children and pets.
